8.68g Aquatabs Drinking Water Tablets
These tablets are a powerful, high-capacity water treatment solution designed for large-volume chlorination applications. In an effervescent base, Aquatabs 8.68g tablets dissolve quickly to provide an effective way to disinfect water for both human and animal consumption.
- Each tablet contains 8.68g Troclosene sodium (NaDCC)
- 1 tablets treats 1,250 litres of water at 4ppm available chlorine and 2,500 litres at 2ppm available chlorine
- Ideal for use in wells, tube wells, spring boxes, silt traps and stored water systems

For General Water Disinfection:
- Dissolve 1 tablet in the required volume of clear water ( 1 tablet in 1,000 litres water provides a strength of 5ppm available chlorine)
- Gently agitate the water to ensure even distribution
- Allow a minimum contact time of 30 minutes before drinking
For Water Disinfection Using A Dosing Pump:

For Disinfection of Wells and Tubewells:
- Following construction of the well and pump installation or suspected biological contamination, wells and tubewells should be disinfected immediately
- Dissolve 10 tablets in 50 litres of water in an open area
- Pour approximately half of the solution into the well
- Operate the pump until the water pumped out (or from all the opened taps in the household) has a noticeable chlorine smell
- Stop pumping and add the remaining solution to the well
- Wait 1 hour and then start pumping again with all household taps open and allow the chlorinated water to circulate through the system for several minutes
- Stop pumping and leave the well unused for 12 hours
- After 12 hours, pump water to waste until the residual chlorine level reaches <2ppm
- Refill the system with potable water if required
For Disinfection of Spring Boxes and Silt Traps:
- Dissolve 10 tablets in 50 litres of water in an open area
- Thoroughly scrub the inside walls with the solution, especially between the water level and the highest point the water level may reach, using half the solution
- Pour the remainder of the solution into the well/box/trap
- In case of a pump facility, also follow procedures 4,5,6 and 7, as for the disinfection of wells and tubewells
- Please note it may take a week or more for the chlorine smell to disappear
